There is a loss of which was once a “Principal Food” and now there is an emergence of “Non Essential” foods. What are the Functional Foods that the experts are boosting about? We will learn the power ofPhytonutrients and Phytochemicals which are the most exciting areas of nutritional research today. Experts have identified compounds in plants that can bolster our defenses against agents of disease, reducing risks of cancer and other serious illnesses. You will find nothing about these Phytonutrients in conventional textbooks or courses, but scientific papers about them are appearing so rapidly that Doctors will have to take note. WE will focus on what real Whole Foods are and the result of the lack of them in our bodies over time. As a nation we lack EFA’s (essential fatty acids) in our diets, mostly because we are obsessed with No-Fat and Low-Fat diets. We will learn the foods that are rich in Good Fat.
