Heart Health…and the beat goes on

Heart disease is a serious problem  for both sexes and needs to be addressed by everyone.

Statistics complied by the World Health organization (WHO) from 21 countries suggests of the 18.5 million who die each year from CVD, more than half are women. Postmenopausal women are especially at risk because of declining estrogen levels, which increase the risk of heart disease. Vastly under-represented in the scientific research, many physicians may still not recognize the unique symptoms that heart problems display in the female body.

I feel that women today have so much on their plates. They are multi-tasking, some of them working full time jobs, child-rearing, homemaking, taking care of elderly parents and still available for their partners emotionally and physically. If you ask a Mom what they ate for breakfast, they can not even respond. It is my professional opinion, that they are not paying attention to their nutritional needs throughout the busy day. We all need to be conscious of our nutritional levels, being elevated throughout the day.

It may be as simple as making a protein smoothie in the morning and putting it in a Thermos and carrying it in a small thermal bag, along with quality organic nuts, seeds, an apple and maybe a yogurt. This is all manageable and at your fingertips. It means being very Pro-Active during the day.

I can show you how to orchestrate this.

Reversal Diet- reduce the risk of of cardiovascular disease with my guidance

Learn to make moderate changes to slow the progression of heart disease. Learn to first make a change in diet by lowering cholesterol and learning how to incorporate a Plant-Based Diet  into your lifestyle. Dr. Dean Ornish, a renowned cardiac researcher and best-selling author, has inspired millions of people to choose a healthier lifestyle and a low-fat diet. You can learn slimmed down versions of comfort foods that are delicious and nutritious.

He recommends 10 percent of calories from fat. You can do this, the vegetable kingdom offers hundreds of varieties of delicious foods. Whole grains and beans and legumes come in many varieties to enjoy-feast on these high fiber foods, and reap the benefits.

I teach different techniques for cooking with no added fat. The use of herbs and spices in different entrees, to replace salt and fat, are my specialty.

Another brilliant Doctor, who won the Nobel Laureate Prize in Medicine went to Dr. Louis J. Ignarro, for his discovery of Nitric Oxide, also called “The Miracle Molecule”. After reading his book,”NO More Heart Disease”, I confirmed my cooking and coaching was in the right direction for my clients after studying his lifetime work in preventing and reversing heart disease and strokes.

This discovery is the work of 30 years of research by Dr. Ignarro. Nitric Oxide (NO) is made by cells that line blood vessels. NO performs its role as a VASODILATOR, meaning that it controls blood flow to every part of the body. Its effects relax the muscles in the vessel wall, dilating arteries and increasing blood flow. NO is multifunctional. It’s baseline activity is modulated by Diet.

NO is directly synthesized from a dietary amino acid called Arginine. This amino acid is found in : nuts, beans and numerous vegetables. One protein that I am a big fan of and promote with my clients as much as possible, is SARDINES. They are abundant in NO. Vegetarian diets may be beneficial in part because they stimulate the production of NO. Low levels of NO are associated with the most common diseases of mankind.

Let me show you how to get these foods in your diet, its easy . Let’s all pay attention to “Cellular Health” and benefit greatly from the results.
